Generally when it comes to travel and entertainment people are becoming more and more innovative. It is no longer the case that everyone on your street will visit the same Spanish resort in the summer, and stag-dos are no exception. Increasingly, over the past decade plus, British Stag-doers have taken their party overseas, and the types of stag do activities have diversified and often become more extreme and bizarre. One group of friends from Somerset are taking things even further and planning a record breaking stag do to end all stag dos. If all goes to plan then there won’t just be embarrassing photos to show for their antics, but too a total of four world records!
Record Breaking Stag-Do
The Stag-do organiser, Tony Dickinson, has been busy planning the event, and whilst husband-to-be, Charlie Badderley has been frantically putting the final pieces together for the wedding, his best man has been organising the logistics of the record breaking. The attempts don’t even involve the stags having to leave good old Blighty and rather they will carry out the record attempts in their home county.
First on the list of records that the stags will be attempting to break is the fastest 100 metres on a space hopper, which according to the official Guinness World Records’ website is a record that has been held for almost eight years by Ashrita Furman of the United States, with the time to beat at 30.2 seconds. Next on the list is the record for the largest quantity of hamburgers consumed in three minutes, which is currently ten, held by Takeru Kobayashi of Japan. It gets more bizarre with their next attempt, where they will aim to become the fastest team of eight people to wrap a person in newspaper. The current record was set just last year in the UK and stands at three minutes and seven seconds. Finally, they will complete the stag do record breaking attempts when Charlie tries to smash as many eggs on his forehead within thirty seconds, with 56 as the target to beat.
Not Their First Whacky Adventure
To add a further sense of wackiness to the adventure, the team will be travelling around in a fur covered bus, and not for the first time. The trio have previously travelled to Cameroon, Mongolia, across South America, and through India in fur covered transportation after making it their mission to navigate the entire globe in vehicles wrapped in fur back in 2008. Although to many this stag do may seem like it has been concocted in the basement of some deranged scientist, to these three friends it is almost run of the mill.
All for a Good Cause
In addition to being a whole lot of fun, the trio are not simply wild animals out to commit acts of wackiness wrapped in fur, but rather too they will be raising money for the charity ‘Help For Heroes’, who assist wounded, injured and sick Services personnel, veterans and their families. Here at Escape we also offer a wide range of activities that will get your heart pumping, White Water Rafting,Blind Steer Driving, Ultimate Warrior and much more. So if you are looking to have a crazy weekend let us know, we will gladly oblige.
