There is no better excuse to gather all of your best mates together and head off to the continent, than a stag do. Although the UK stag weekend destinations have everything you could possibly want we can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed if you hop on to a plane and jet off to faraway location.
Let us share our experiences with you and advise you of the hottest European destinations for an unforgettable stag weekend.
Although stag-dos and Prague are now commonly associated, the Czech capital is still a relatively recent find for the mainstream UK market. Known as a historical pearl of Europe and one of the world’s most beautiful cities, Prague has plenty to attract regular tourists, and the addition of cheap quality beer, excellent nightlife and beautiful women, gets thousands of stags flooding in each year. Stag activities in the Czech capital tend to combine adrenaline fuelled excitement, beautiful women, guns and cars. The nightlife is vast and combines modern bars and clubs with traditional watering holes, and with a half litre of local beer at just over a quid, you can’t really go wrong. With the popularity and quality of Czech beer too, a brewery tour is always a great way of sampling some fresh nectar.
Riga is the new boy on the block and has fast become a firm favourite with UK stag parties. The capital city of Latvia is currently going through a bit of a renaissance and, as well as incredible architecture and interesting cultural sites, there is also a bustling nightlife, with bars staying open much later than many other cities on the continent. The best thing about Riga is its diversity in terms of nightlife. The old town is quaint and quite beautiful, but there are also modern clubs and lap dancing bars, which rival many much larger European stag destinations. The beer is ridiculously cheap, and with a wealth of activities, including bobsleighing, bungee jumping and water parks, there is plenty to fill the daytimes too.
Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava, is another fine stag-do destination. Sitting on the banks of the River Danube, Bratislava is the only capital in the world that borders two independent countries and its culture and history, as a result, is rich and diverse. Again, the diversity of the nightlife is what makes Bratislava a great stag destination. The old historic parts are perfect for some early evening beers and the trendy bars, packed to the rafters with gorgeous women, present a great environment to see the night through. Favourable prices again mean that you can enjoy yourself without worrying too much about your outgoings, and night time activities, such as steak and lesbo, and naked mud wrestling, ensure that you can place the groom in some compromising positions. Cameras at the ready!
Everyone should visit Europe’s party capital, Amsterdam, at least once in their lives and what better time than for a stag do? Again this destination combines a culture rich capital with trendy bars, clubs and lots of interesting activities. There are numerous unique drinking facilities, such as the Beer Bike and Canal Boat Bar Crawl, in addition to the plentiful cafes, bars, clubs and, of course, the world famous red light district. There are also numerous restaurants where you can enjoy a real high level of culinary experience, including Jamie Oliver’s ‘Jamie’s Fifteen’.
The last, but by no means the least of the cities on our ‘top five’ list, is Budapest. Similar to its neighbour, Bratislava, the Hungarian capital sits on the River Danube and exudes a rich culture and history. In addition to the bars and clubs, where once more beer is cheap, there are also numerous other activities that a stag party can partake in. Although many of these revolve around guns and girls, there are also thermal baths where you can get some much needed relaxation. The ‘Stag Arrest’ offered in the city is also a great way to stitch up the groom and get some memorable wife-to-be-friendly snaps.
